Biography

Born on 26 July 1889 at Hallets Valley, just outside Tanunda, South Australia.

Enlisted at Adelaide on 14 September 1916. NoK: Wife - Mrs Silveress May Hetzel of Swaine Ave, Rose Park, South Australia. She later moved to Henley Beach.  

Embarked 6 November 1916 with 7th Reinforcements of the 50th Battalion and disembarked at Plymouth on 9 January 1917.

Transferred to 13th Training Battalion at Codford.   

Taken on strength by the 50th Battalion in France on 15 April 1917. 

Promoted to Corporal in the field on 13 September 1917.

Killed in Action 13 October 1917. Was serving in A Company Lewis Gun Team near Zonnebeke when he was killed by shell fire.
