Son of Francis Martin Oats and Janet Oats nee Scott of Neville via Blayney, NSW

Commenced return to Australia on 10 January 1918 aboard HT Corinthic disembarking on 7 March 1918 at Melbourne then transhipped on 4 March 1918 aboard  HT Port Darwin for onward travel to Sydney

Medals: British War Medal, Victory Medal

In 1942 Roy was residing in the the War Veterans Home, Narabeen, NSW. Later joined the Dee Why RSL Sub Branch in 1967.
