4280 Private Patrick O'Reilly 14th Battalion, 1st AIF, of Ararat, Victoria. Reported Missing in Action following his Battalion's attack on Riencourt, 11th April, 1917. Patrick was later reported Prisoner of War in Germany, & following the Armistice, was repatriated back to Australia. In later life Patrick was very active in Vict RSL affairs.

4280 Private (Pte) Patrick Henry (Harry) O’Reilly. A draper from South Ballarat, Victoria prior to enlistment, Pte O’Reilly embarked with the 13th Reinforcements, 14th Battalion from Melbourne on HMAT Demosthenes on 29 December 1915. After briefly serving with the 4th Light Trench Mortar Battery, he re-joined his battalion and was declared missing in action. It was subsequently established that he had been captured and was being held as a prisoner of war in Dulmen, Germany. Following the Armistice he was repatriated to England and returned to Australia on 7 February 1919.
