Add my storyBiography contributed by Stephen Brooks
James came out to Australia from Scotland with his brother Thomas in around 1912. He is mentioned in De Ruvigny's Roll of Honour, 1914-1919 which states he worked as a bushman at Stockinbingal in NSW before he enlisted. He was killed in action during the attack on Hill 60 delivered by the 18th Battalion AIF not long after their arrival at Anzac.
James's brother Thomas McGeachie was killed in action at Hill 60 in Belgium the following year.
