Personal Stories
Grandson of transported Irish Rebels
Joined AIF 1916--33rd Battalion .
On Enlistment noted next of Kin as Aunty Anne Moriarty of Bondi.
Who's son Joseph Fitzgerald Jordan Moriarty (cousin) had already enlisted.
It is said the family was against any Enlistment to fight for the British -as their Great Grandfathers William Grogan & Nicholas Jordan were transported convicts as Irish Rebels.
It is assumed this is why he put down Ann Moriarty as his next of kin..
