Son of John O'Reilly of Mundoe, NSW

On 19 June 1919, using the name of Edgar James O'Reilly, he married Nellie May Ireland in St Paul's Church, Cheltenham, Gloucester, England. Vicat Thomas H. Carr Moyle officiated.

Commenced return to Australia on 27 March 1920 aboard HT Zealandia disembarking on 14 May 1920
