The death of Mr. Arthur H. C. Waine, father of Mrs. Harold King, of Main Arm, Mulluanbimby, occurred at Dalby (Qld.) recently. Deceased was formerly a resident of Main Arm, and whilst residing there he married Miss Nita Henderson, also of that centre. He saw service in South Africa in the Boer War and again served his country in the Great War with the 6th Light Horse in Palestine. His eldest son, Charles, went overseas with the first draft of the A.IF. in the present war and on his return to Australia last year died from an illness contracted whilst on active service. The late Mr. Arthur Waine was engaged in agricultural pursuits on the Upper Manning River and was banana growing at Main Arm; but during the latter part of his life he acquired a business in which he was engaged at the time of his death. A widow and one son and five daughters survive.
