Pte 3243 Leslie Tibbett sustained SW to both legs (right leg severed) while in the line near Zonnebeke. He was evacuated to the 17th CCS then situated at Lijssenthoek, where he died of his wounds two days later on 3 October 1917.

Parents: Charles and Elizabeth TIBBETT, 48 Stirling Street, Footscray, Victoria. Native of Eaglehawk, Victoria.

Commemorated in Eaglehawk Cemetery, Victoria. Headstone inscription reads: 'He answered his country's call.' Parents: Charles (d. 28 February 1915, aged 60; bu. Eaglehawk Cemetery) and Elizabeth TIBBETT (d. 6 March 1937, aged 78; bu. Eaglehawk Cemetery).
