Son of Charles Burns and Susan Burns nee McMenaman of Tullamaarine, Victoria

Next of kin given as J. Desmond of 38 Nelson Street, Port Melbourne, Victoria. Twin brother of Charles Burns who died of Melancholia, acute Oedema of the brain  on 10 September 1919 on board HMS Wyreema near Colombo having served with the 5th Machine Gun Battalion. Buried at sea his name appears on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial
