Late in the year 1892 Bruce William Willcocks (Bruce William Window) was born in Gawler SA. After Bruce's schooling he went on to become a firefighter and later join the Australian Imperial Force like many other Australian men and women.
On the 20 of March 1916 Bruce William Willcocks enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force and was placed in the 32nd battalion and on the 27 of June 1916 embarked for war on the HMAT Malkuta. He served with the unit right through 1917 and fought in the battles of that year. During the German Spring offensive on the 24 of March 1918 Bruce was sent off duty with illness, and re-joined on the 14 June 1918. Little over two months after re-joining Bruce was sent off duty again on the 15 of August 1918 and re-joined again on the 4 of October 1918. Just over a month after Bruce re-joined for the second time on the 11 of November 1918 a ceasefire was called on the western front and over half a year later the 5 of August 1919 Bruce returned home to his family. George Willcocks was later discharged from the Australian Imperial Force on the 21 of September 1919. After Bruce left the Australian Imperial Force there is not much more information about him or what happened to him after the war.
