Nottle Albert Charles was born in Gawler South Australia on 08 Dec 1896. He was a Methodist and he worked as a carpenter. He was single before he enlisted in the war on 28 January 1916 at the age of 20. Albert's siblings were; George Edward Nottle, Percy Vincent Nottle, Herbert James Nottle, Ernst Roy Nottle, Clarence Alfred Nottle, Lily May Charnstrom and Leonard Stanley Nottle. 

After the war, Albert married Mary Nottle and they had several children: Daphne Marie Walton, Clifford Charles Nottle, Lyla Fay Klose and Bert Nottle.
