Biography

"...1144 Private (Pte) Clifford Gordon Cornwall, 16th Battalion. A labourer of Norwood, SA, he enlisted on 16 September 1914 and sailed from Melbourne on HMAT Ceramic with G Company, on 22 December 1914. He was killed in action on 2 May 1915, aged 26, at Anzac Cove, and is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli Peninsula..." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)

"THE LATE PRIVATE C. G. CORNWALL.

It has been officially reported that Private C. G. Cornwall, who was reported missing twelve months ago, was killed in action on May 2, 1915. He was the third son of the late Mr. J. T. Cornwall, of Brompton, and Mrs. J. French, of Kenilworth-avenue, Norwood.
