Son of William Henry Ollis MM and Mary Ollis of Vine Street, Windsor, Victoria. William also served return to Australia on 1 August 1919 having served with the 2nd Pioneer Battalion.

Husband of May Ollis of Benacre Road, Brimingham, England. William and May married on 22 March 1919 in the Registry Office, Birmingham, England. Reigistrar J.K, Cooper officiated.

Commenced return to Australia on 3 July 1919 aboard HT Zealandic disembarking on 23 August 1919

Medals: 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal

Post war William moved to Invercargill, NZ where he became a member of the Invercargill Returned Soldiers Association.
