Biography contributed by John Edwards

"THE LATE PRIVATE PRING.

Mrs. J. Pring, of Torrensville, has been informed that her husband, Private Pring, died from a gunshot wound in France on September 12. At the time of enlisting, in September, 1915, Private Pring was employed in the railway sheds, Mile-End. He sailed from Australia on March 9 last, and after spending some time in Egypt left for France with the 50th Battalion. He was in his forty-third year and was well liked by a large circle of friends. He left a widow and eight children." - from the Adelaide Chronicle 14 Oct 1916 (nla.gov.au)
