Brother of John Vinnicombe who was killed in action on 7 May 1917 while serving with the 9th Battalion and has no known grave. His name appears on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial.

Son of Elizabeth Ann Vinnicombe nee Tucker of 'Rosehill', Nambour, QLD.

Commenced return to Australia on 23 July 1919 aboard HT Suevic disembarking on 10 September 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Brisbane
