Son of John O'Rourke and Mary O'Rourke nee Tobin of Kilmacthomas, County of Waterford, Ireland.

Next of kin was given as his sister Margaret O'Rourke of Kilmacthomas, County of Waterford, Ireland.

Commenced return to Australia on 12 May 1919 aboard HT Port Napier disembarking on 4 July 1919 at Sydney for onward travel to Brisbane.

Post war Thomas was a long time member of the Cairns RSL, address at the time was Danbulla, QLD and was employed by P.E.I. Works of Danbulla
