Son of James and Elizabeth Lonergan of Wyalong, NSW. Brother of Stephen Lonergan who was killed in action 4 May 1917 while serving with the 3rd Battalion and James Francis Lonergan who returned to Australia on 31 July 1918 having served with the 18th Battalion
