Add my storyBiography contributed by Stephen Brooks
Bill Taylor grew up in remote Wilcannia in NSW. He worked as a drover until signing up for service in the AIF to fight in the Great War. He served as a driver in the 8th Battery, 2nd Field Artillery and served in Egypt, then France and Belgium before returning to Australia via England in 1919. He met up with his brother Jim in Egypt and they were photographed together, probably a last meeting as Jim was killed in action at Mouquet Farm in France during 1916.
Bill was granted a Soldier Settlement property, 'Boongala' at Rocky Glen near Boggabri and lived there until his death.
