George was born in Ma Ma Creek on 2 Sep 1888, son of David Andrews and Fleurine Elsie Paroz.
Private enlisted 27 Mar 1916 in Townsville aged 27, and embarked from Brisbane on 16 Aug 1916 per HMAT A42 “Boorara”.
He served on the Western Front with the 47th Battalion AIF. He was Killed in Action on 9 Jun 1917 in Battle of Messines, Belgium. No known grave. His name appears on Panel 27 of The Menin Gate Memorial.
He was an agriculturist.
His brothers, 4358 Private Bertie Reginald Andrews, 25th Battalion, was KIA 10 Jun 1918, and 4357 Private James Martin Andrews, 25th Battalion, was KIA 5 Aug 1916.
