Correct name was Francis Joseph O'Neill but served as Frank Joseph O'Neill

Son of Charles O'Neill and Catherine O'Neill of "Bethany", Sebastopol Street, Marrickville, NSW

Brother of John Patrick O'Neill MM who was killed in action on 16 October 1917 while serving with the 1st Field Artillery Brigade and has no known grave. His name appears on Menin Gate, Ypres, Panel 7; William  Edward O'Neill who returned to Australia on 11 June 1919 having served with the 1st Field Artillery Brigade; Charles Bernard O'Neill who returned to Australia on 3 February 1919 having served with the 10th Field Artillery Brigade

Commenced return to Australia on 6 July 1919 aboard HT Boorara disembarking on 26 August 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Sydney
