Adopted son of Ellen Slow of 5 Anglesley Road, St Marys, Cray, Kent, England
When he wrote his will he was on S.S. Junia, Liverpool, England where he was working as a Merchant Seaman. He was considered to be a very good seaman of good character and conducted himself well. While he was working as a merchant seaman he made at least 11 voyages to South America and a further 2 voyages to Australia
