Next of kin given as his sister Margaret Brady of South Broken Hill, NSW.
In October 1918 Margaret wrote to Base Records querying the spelling on the wounded advice stating that her brother was George Swalwell and not George Oswel which she believed was an alias. Base records replied that there was no George Swalwell serving in the AIF.
Commenced return to Australia on 16 January 1919 aboard HT Demosthenes disembarking on 2 March 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Sydney
