"THE LATE PRIVATE D. T. HURLING.

Mrs. Hurling, of Minlaton, Yorke Peninsula, has been informed that her youngest son, Private David T. Hurling, has been killed in action in France. He was 36 years of age, and was held in high esteem by all who knew him." - from the Adelaide Chronicle 21 Oct 1916 (nla.gov.au)
