"The sad intelligence has been conveyed to Mr. and Mrs. J. Phillips, Egan Street, Kalgoorlie, by Chaplain Crean, that their only son, Lance-Corporal Samuel G. Phillips was killed in action in France on August 5. Lance-Corporal Phillips left for Egypt twelve months ago, and became a member of the Signalling Corps. Mr. J.
