Military Cross Citation
On 29th September 1918, at Hargicourt, during the attack on the Hindenburg line, he was on duty with the battery under heavy enemy shelling. One shell burst beside him, and killed the non-commissioned officer in charge of a gun. He immediately took charge of the detachment, and carried on with the barrage until relieved some time later. His coolness and devotion to duty set a fine example to his men.

Next of kin given as his brother Arthur Ulcoq of Fairfield Road, Yeronga, QLD.
Also brother of Jeffrey Frederick Raoul Ulcoq who died of wounds on 5 March 1917 while serving with 5th Field Artillery Brigade and is buried in the Martinpuich British Cemeter, Row B, Grave 1; and Oliver Eugene Ulcoq who returned to Australia on 2 January 1920 having served with the 46th Battalion
