On page 19 of his Attestation paper there is a letter from his mother stating that he had enlisted under age and the his date of birth was 29 December 1901

Son of William John Orr and Alice Orr nee Grogan of Albert Street, Windsor, Victoria formerly of Perth, WA and Glenhuntley Road, Brunswick, Victoria.

Commenced return to Australia on 2 January 1919 aboard HT Berrimah disembarking on 17 February 1919
