Son of  Michael Hussey and Elizabeth Hussey nee Ryan of 'Callanballan Station', Skipton, Victoria

Brother of Charles Hussey who was killed in action on 19 July 1916 while serving with the 60th Battalion and has no known grave. His name appears on panel 20 of the VC Corner Memorial; George Hussey who returned to Australia on 29 August 1919 having served with the 8 Light Horse Regiment; John Hussey who died of wounds on 10 July 1918 while serving with the 8th Battalion and is buried in Vignacourt British Cemetery Plot V, Row D, Grave 17; Leonard Hussey who returned to Australia on 12 July 1919 having served with the 1st Australian Division Motor Transport.
