Corporal Stanley Morrice Bond (Service No:75692) enlisted in the RAAF on 11 may 1942 and mustered as a Painter. He was promoted to Leading Aircraftman (12 December 1942) and Corporal (1 March 1945) and was attached to 3 Aircraft Depot at Discharge on 5 December 1945.

Born in 1904 at Mudgeeraba nr Southport in QLD, Stan was the eighth of eleven children of Walter Charles Bond (b1867 in Hampshire, England) and Harriet Frances Austin (b1869 in Sussex, England). Walter (an Agricultural Labourer) and Harriet married in 1889 in Hampshire, England and immigrated that year, arriving in Brisbane on board the Merkara. Walter was a Railways Employee, and he and Harriet lived along the Western QLD Line at 141 Mile Camp, 208 Mile Gate, Cherry Gully, Mudgeeraba, Esk and Ottaba before settling at Corinda in Brisbane in the early 1920s - Walter continued working for the Railways.

Stan completed an apprenticeship as a French Polisher with Brimson Bros in Brisbane and in 1931 married Rosina (Ena) Rix (b1906 in Brisbane, QLD) - Ena was a Saleswoman in Brisbane. Following his Discharge in 1945, Stan returned to work as a French Polisher and he and Ena settled at Nundah in Brisbane. Ena died in 1976 and Stan in 1990.
