Son of Richard Venn-Brown and Esther Venn-Brown nee Jacobson of 'Clifton', Northwood Road, Lane Cove, Longueville, NSW.
Brother of Colin Forbes Venn-Brown who returned to Australia on 5 July 1919 having served with the 6th Field Artillery Brigade; Felix Venn-Brown who returned to Australia on 15 December 1919 having served with the Army Medical Corps.
