BRIG. SGT.-MAJOR H. A. NICHOLLS,
Writing from France to his mother, Mrs. T. H. Nicholls, "Loloma.'' Autumn-street, Geelong West, mentions that it will not be long before he is home again. He was expecting a trip to Ostend, Zeebrugge, Bruges and Ghent. He says the towns are getting into their pre-war stride, but lack of coal is a great handicap industrially. Lille and Roubaix are getting very fashionable now. With his wife and child, B.S.M. Nicholls expected to sail for Australia about the end of May. Mrs. T. H. Nicholls also received a letter from Ern. Welsh, 2nd Batt., Darrford, England. He expresses thanks for a pair of socks which were included in a parcel sent by the Geelong West Anzac Club.
NICHOLLS.—On July 20, at Repatriation Hospital, Heidelberg, Harold Arthur Nicholls, late 2nd Siege Bde., 1st A.I.F., and C.M.F of 8 Swanston street, Queenscliff, dearly beloved husband of Ethel Algenia, dearly loved father of Herbert, Harold, Jack, Lorna (Mrs. A. Patching), Alan, Shirley (Mrs. K. Hastings), Mae, Jennifer and Dorothy, aged 64 years.—At rest.
