Arrived in Australia aged 11 years

Son of George A and Agnes Ellis of 12 Esplanade, Williamstown, Victoria. Brother of William Arthur Revel  Ellis who returned to Australia on 11 July 1917 having served with the 8th Light Horse and Harold Stanley Ellis who returned to Australia on 8 April 1919  having served with the 13th Light Horse Regiment

Medals: 1914-15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal

Also served in the Citizen Military Forces and played Football for the Harriers Club
