25 Jul 1918: | Honoured Military Medal, 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. Whilst acting as N.C.O. in charge of INFERNO AMMUNITION DUMP (east of YPRES) on three occasions (5th October, 1917, 11th October, 1917 and 18th October, 1917), when enemy shells fell in the vicinity, his coolness in assisting to control the men was of the greatest value.
