Brother of Douglas Hyde Oldfield who returned to Australia on 24 December 1918 having served with the 28th Battalion; Edward James Oldfield who served in WW2

Commenced return to Australia on 6 May 1919 aboard HT Kaiser-i-Hind disembarking on 16 June 1919
