Biography contributed

Joseph Henry CLAMPETT was born in Wallendbeen, NSW on 24th September, 1887

His parents were John David CLAMPETT & Mary Ann HOLLIS who married in Cootamundra, NSW in 1887

He enlisted in Sydney on 21st August, 1914 and embarked on the ship Euripides on 20th October, 1914 with the 4th Infantry Battalion, G Company - he was wounded in Gallipoli and returned to Australia

After he recovered he re-enlisted with the 3rd Field Artillery Brigade and embarked from Sydney on the HMAT Berrima on 17th December, 1915

His last rank was a Gunner with the 5th Battery, 2nd Brigade (5th Australian Field Artillery Brigade

Joseph was Killed in Action in Belgium on 31st July, 1917
