Frank came from Casino in New South Wales but enlisted in Brisbane with the 26th Battalion. He served on Gallipoli from September 1915 until he was sent off just prior to the evacuation with influenza.
He was allotted to the 52nd Battalion during the reorganisation of the AIF in Egypt during early 1916.
He took part in the last attack on Mouquet Farm by the Australians, in which the 52nd Battalion suffered severe casualties.
Frank was last seen mortally wounded after a shell exploded among the Lewis gun team that he was working with. His remains were never found.
