Attended West Maitland SPS from  about 1902 to at least 1910. The family moved to Newcastle in 1912 - father was licencee of the Carrington Hotel, High Street, Maitland before taking on the Station Hotel at Hamilton in 1912. Mother died in Newcastle in 1913.
