19 Aug 1914:	Enlisted AIF WW1, Private, 976, 7th Infantry Battalion

19 Oct 1914:	Embarked Private, 976, 7th Infantry Battalion, HMAT Hororata, Melbourne
25 Apr 1915:	Wounded AIF WW1, Private, 976, 7th Infantry Battalion, ANZAC / Gallipoli, GSW back. Evacuated to Malta. Rejoined unit 9 September 1915.
31 Mar 1916:	Transferred AIF WW1, Private, 46th Infantry Battalion, Egypt. Pte Watkins spent the next 18 months in and out of hospitals with various ailments, and eventually RTA on 10 September 1917.
19 Dec 1917:	Discharged AIF WW1, Private, 976, 46th Infantry Battalion, Medically unfit (TB).
