Frederick Nixon MONTGOMERIE was born in Gunnedah, NSW in 1886

His parents were William MONTGOMERIE & Mary BROWN who married in Morpeth, NSW in 1884

He enlisted in Randwick on 30th March, 1916 & embarked from Melbourne on the RMS Orontes on 16th August, 1916 with the 9th Machine Gun Company, 2nd reinforcements

He returned to Australia on 23rd July, 1918 & was discharged on 19th November, 1918 and died as a result of his war service at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney on 17th August, 1920
