Biography

"DEATH. (On Active Service.)

PARISH.- Died of wounds on 20th September, 1917, Private Frederick George Parish, dearly loved third son of Mr and Mrs J. Parish. Aged 22 years.

"Died of wounds," said the cable. That was all they had to tell,

Of the brave young lad that left us, Of the one we loved so well.

We pictured your safe returning, dear Fred, We longed to clasp your hand,

But God has postponed our meeting; It will be in a Better Land. -Inserted by father, mother, sisters and brothers." - from the Mildura Cultivator 31 Oct 1917 (nla.gov.au)
