A Call To Action
We are seeking your help to tell the unsung stories of Australian service people from both the First and Second World Wars.
For the First World War, there are thousands of untold stories left to tell. We want to highlight 110 profiles of Great War service men and women by the end of June.
We also want your help to tell 80 stories from May to August of the hundreds of thousands of stories from the service and sacrifice of Australians who served in the Second World War.
The 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, both in Europe (May 8) and in the Pacific (August 15), is coming up. These 2 dates, marking the surrender of Nazi Germany and Japan, signify the end of a tumultuous first half of the 20th century and another massive commitment of hundreds of thousands of Australian soldiers, sailors, nurses, and airforce personnel.
We are asking you to add to our memorial by researching a particular service person from these wars whose story is yet to be told.
We want you to then complete their service profile to the highest standard you can. The best stories will be highlighted by us on our social media, our home page, and in this newsletter. What a great way to honour our veterans!
As an added incentive, our Chairman, Peter Williams, has donated some tickets to our 2025 "Don’t Forget Me, Cobber" annual lunch (Adelaide, 15 August 2025). The 2 best profiles from each conflict, as judged by our CEO, will win these tickets!
That's 4 tickets in total, 2 for First World War submissions and 2 for Second World War submissions.
