Keith Doctor HEAN was born on 14th July, 1890 in Sorell, Tasmania

His parents were Alexander HEAN and Amy Mary Eliza ALLANBY

Keith was a well known athlete, footballer & cricketer in Tasmania

He enlisted in Claremont Tasmania on 16th August, 1915 and embarked with the 26th Infantry Battalion, 6th reinforcements on the HMAT Ulysses on 27th October, 1915

Keith was Killed in Action in France on the 19th June, 1916 and is buried in Rue Petillon Military Cemetery

His name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial & a Memorial plaque in the  Sorell Scotts Uniting Church, Tasmania

His brother Colin Thorpe HEAN (SN2575) also served in WW1 and returned to Australia in 1919
