Son of William James Newton Vidler and Isabella Georgina Vidler nee Dawes of Jamberoo, NSW.
Prior to enlisting William had been a member of the Jamberoo Rifle Club.
Husband of Annie Vidler nee McClelland of Albion Park, NSW. William and Annie married during 1907c in Kiama, NSW.
Commenced return to Australia on 9 February 1919 aboard HT Ascania disembarking on 4 April 1919
