Biography contributed by Paul Trevor

'Born in Brisbane, George Knott was 20 years old when he enlisted and was described as a grocer. He seems to have had a relatively uneventful war, managing to avoid getting wounded or promoted. He served in Gallipoli and in France with only a few bouts of illness taking him away from the action. He returned to Australia on the 3rd December 1918.' SOURCE (blogs.slq.qld.gov.au)
