25 Jun 1915: Embarked AIF WW1, Private, 2398, 11th Infantry Battalion, Embarked on HMAT 'A63' Karoola from Fremantle on 25th June 1915, disembarking Egypt.
1 Aug 1915: Embarked AIF WW1, Private, 2398, 11th Infantry Battalion, Embarked on HMT Berrima from Alexandria, Egypt on 1st August 1915, disembarking Dardanelles. Returned from the Dardanelles on HMT Lake Michigan disembarking Alexandria on 6th January 1916.
1 Mar 1916: Transferred AIF WW1, Private, 51st Infantry Battalion (WW1)
5 Jun 1916: Embarked AIF WW1, Private, 2398, 51st Infantry Battalion (WW1), Embarked on HMT Ivernia from Alexandria, Egypt on 5th june 1916, disembarking Marseilles, France on 12th June 1916 to join British Expeditionary Force.
3 Sep 1916: Wounded AIF WW1, Private, 2398, 51st Infantry Battalion (WW1),
  • 3rd September 1916 - wounded in action, gun shot wound to right hand
  • 6th September 1916 - transferred to England on HS Newhaven from Calais, France
  • 7th September 1916 - admitted to 1st Southern General Hospital, Birmingham
  • 3rd November 1916 - transferred to No 2 Command Depot at Weymouth as temporarily unfit for duty
  • 30th July 1917 - proceeded overseas to France from Southampton
  • 15th August 1917 - rejoined unit
  • 5 Apr 1918: Wounded AIF WW1, Private, 2398, 51st Infantry Battalion (WW1),
  • 5th April 1918 - Wounded in action (2nd occasion), gun shot wound to right arm
  • 6th April 1918 - Admitted to 56th General Hospital and transferred to England by HS Newhaven on 10th April 1918
  • 11th April 1918 - Admitted to 1st Southern General Hospital, Birmingham
  • 8th May 1918 - transferred to 3rd Auxiliary Hospital, Dartford
  • 22 Jul 1918: Embarked AIF WW1, Private, 2398, 51st Infantry Battalion (WW1), Embarked for return to Australia on HMT Kanowna from England on 22nd July 1918, disembarking Fremantle 24th August 1918.
