4 Mar 1918: Honoured Meritorious Service Medal (MSM), For conspicuous and thoroughly efficient performance of his duties, particularly during the active operations around Ypres, from 29th September, 1917 to 12th November 1917, when heavy casualties took place in guns and material, it was solely due to this N.C.O.'s efforts that his battery Commander was able to keep guns in action with a minimum of delay.
