EDMONDS, Rev John Richard (1882-1967)

John Richard Edmonds was born on the 31 July 1882 at Horsham, the son of John Richard Edmonds and Sarah Jane nee Eldridge. He was enrolled in February 1911 as a day student and his entry address was listed as 78 Mercer St, Geelong.

He enlisted in the Chaplain’s department, AIF, and embarked for England with the Australian Army Medical Corps (AAMC) Details on 6 August 1918 from Adelaide on SS Gaika. He was at the AAMC Training Depot at Park-house in October, then 2nd AGH, before he was promoted Chaplain-Captain at Tidworth. Returned to Australia on HMT Ypiringa, embarking on 15 November 1919. His appointment was terminated on 27 January 1920.

He died on 25 April 1967 and was interred at New Cheltenham Cemetery.
