Percy's War.
Percy Ellis enlisted in 1914 and served with the 14th Battalion. He was wounded in the thigh in August 1915 while at Anzac Cove. He returned to service and went on to France.
In August 1916 at Pozieres, France he was buried in a shell explosion which killed his brother Abel Ellis (SN3976A 14th Btn). He was wounded again in October 1916.
On April 11th 1917 he was wounded and captured at the First Battle of Bullecourt and remained a POW until he was repatriated to England on 07/012/18.
He returned to Australia in March 1919, married in 1921 and died in 1925.
