Son of George Richard Uhr and Ellen Isabel Godwin formerly Uhr nee Wales of Piccadilly Street, Townsville, QLD. Brother of Frank Uhr who returned to Australia on 5 July 1918 having served with the 26th Battalion.
Commenced return to Australia on 11 January 1918 aboard HT Port Darwin disembarking on 4 March 1918 at Melbourne then onward travel to Brisbane via Sydney
