IN LOVING MEMORY OF OUR DEAR SON LOVED IN LIFE TREASURED IN MEMORY
Profound sypathy was felt for Mr. and Mrs. James Adams, of Ravenswood, when receipt of the sad news that their son, Private Thomas Dart Adams, had been killed in action on the Western Front. He was just 26 years of age, and enlisted at Mildura, entering the Bendigo Camp and joining up with the 38th Battalion. Afterwards he was in a unit taken to reinforce the 6th Battalion, and later on joined the 59th Battalion. He was out of the line for some time, suffering from trench feet. On recovering he was put on to work at the Anzac railway for six months, and was stricken with trench fever. He was in hospital for seven months, and from all accounts he could not have been long back in the firing line when he made the supreme sacrifice. Prior to enlisting Private Adams had worked on Dr. Atkinson's three estates , and ws held in high esteem.
