Son of Cosmo and Emily FOWLER; husband of Vera M. FOWLER, 47 Old Canterbury Road, Lewisham, New South Wales.
Private H.C. Fowler, second son of Mr. Cosmon Fowler, of Summer Hill, was killed in action in France on August 16. He was 30 years of age and leaves a widow with three young children. His eldest brother, Captain Cosmo Fowler, has completed two years' service as a medical officer with the British, and his younger brother, Leslie, is a lieutenant with the Australian now at the front in France. In a letter received from one of his comrades, it was stated that, when leaving the trench on patrol duty, a shell burst near him, killing him instantly. Deeds of bravery by him are also mentioned.
